Valencia joins Bologna, Glasgow and Hamburg as hosts of the Group Stage of the Davis Cup by Rakuten Finals 2022 from September 14-18
The International Tennis Federation (ITF) and Kosmos Tennis have announced that Valencia will be the fourth venue for the Group Stage of the Davis Cup by Rakuten Finals 2022, joining Bologna, Glasgow and Hamburg, which were announced as Group Stage venues last month.
The action in Valencia will take place at the Pabellón Municipal Fuente de San Luis, better known as La Fonteta. As with the other venues, ties will be played on an indoor hardcourt surface.
Each city selected for the Group Stage will host a group of four teams from 14-18 September. The top two nations from each group will advance to the Knockout Stage, to be held at the Palacio de Deportes José María Martín Carpena in Malaga, Spain, from 21-27 November.
All of this year's host cities have welcomed Davis Cup action in the past. Valencia has hosted the competition on five previous occasions, the most recent being Spain's defeat of Germany in the quarter-finals in 2018.
The draw for the 2022 Finals will take place in Malaga on Tuesday 26 April at 13:15 CEST (11:15 GMT) and can be followed live on the Davis Cup YouTube channel.
